Women in Digital

NEW YORK, NY – May 6, 2019 – L'Oréal USA today announced a call for applications for the 2019 Women in Digital NEXT Generation Awards, a program—now in its seventh year—that supports female leaders who are set to revolutionize the beauty industry. The 2019 Women in Digital NEXT Generation Awards are presented in partnership with Alice, the AI-powered platform for entrepreneurs. This year’s program will award three female founders with grants of $25,000 each and foster a community to help creative, ambitious entrepreneurs scale their businesses and transform the beauty experience.

“L’Oréal has always been committed to empowering women, and we have seen that female founders often face unique challenges when scaling their businesses,” said Rachel Weiss, VP, Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship at L’Oréal USA. “It’s for this reason that this program centers around the most crucial needs for women entrepreneurs: funding, mentorship, and community. Women in Digital aims to help fuel the businesses that are defining the future of beauty.”

L’Oréal USA welcomes female founders and executives who have spearheaded meaningful new technologies and interfaces, beauty services, retail experiences and digitally native brands that address the needs of the modern beauty consumer.

Women in Digital on Alice: A robust community for everyone, with access to year-round resources

L’Oréal USA knows the importance of community for entrepreneurs, and for that reason, it is activating the Women In Digital community on the Alice platform to be a year-round resource for all participating entrepreneurs from all over the United States. This program is about much more than a financial reward: it is an opportunity to bring together some of America's brightest entrepreneurial minds to share resources and scale their businesses.

  • Every applicant of the Women in Digital NEXT Generation Awards will receive guidance, support, mentorship and opportunities, regardless of whether they are selected as a finalist.
  • All applicants will be invited into the L’Oréal Women in Digital community on Alice, which provides access to peer-to-peer mentorship, business coaching, resources to scale, discounts on services and connections to enterprise partners and media.

“L'Oréal USA's Women in Digital program is an incredible example of what can happen when large companies put their money, influence and expertise directly into the hands of women entrepreneurs,” said Elizabeth Gore, president and chairwoman, Alice. “At Alice, our data tells us that capital is the number one need for women entrepreneurs, and this initiative is directly filling that need. We also know that women make around 90% of household purchasing decisions, so who better to innovate the beauty industry than women?"
