MOUNTAINSIDE, N.J. (September 13, 2017) – More than 850 L'Oréal USA employees, suppliers and volunteers participated in the company’s 10th annual “Fore the Children” charity event on September 12, raising a record $775,000 benefiting Children’s Specialized Hospital of New Jersey. Since 2008, the annual event has raised more than $5 million for the hospital, which treats more than 30,000 children with complex medical needs each year at 13 locations across the state.

“The meaningful work and individual care provided by Children’s Specialized Hospital are extraordinary,” said Brian Wassall, co-chair, “Fore the Children” and Assistant Vice President of Sourcing at L’Oréal Operations Americas. “L’Oréal USA is proud to support this amazing organization and the children and families who rely on their contributions every day.”

Since 2008, The event has helped fund various projects, including the implementation of a new inpatient communication system, renovation of a therapy gym, creation of a family lounge, expansion of existing facilities, support of physician and therapist training programs and creation of interactive software that helps patients and families better understand their treatment while hospitalized. This year, funds raised by “Fore the Children” will go directly toward increasing access to care through expansion of state-of-the-art sites, comprehensive and innovative programs and top clinical experts, enabling the hospital to treat more children in need of specialized care.

This year’s event, which included a day of golf, lunch and auctions took place at two New Jersey golf courses: Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster and Fox Hollow Golf Course in Branchburg.

The reception included addresses by Xavier Windal, Senior Vice President, L’Oréal Operations Americas and Warren E. Moore, FACHE, President and CEO, Children’s Specialized Hospital. As part of the 10-year reunion, nine children and their families returned to share updates and celebrate the outstanding progress they’ve made through treatment at Children’s Specialized Hospital.

“It’s truly a privilege to call L’Oréal Operations USA one of our premiere corporate partners,” said Philip Salerno, III, President and Chief Development Officer, Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation. “The children treated at Children’s Specialized Hospital benefit not only from L’Oréal’s incredible financial contribution but also the countless hours of volunteer service.”

The relationship between L’Oréal Operations USA and Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation extends throughout the year, with hundreds of employees from L’Oréal USA volunteering their time at Children’s Specialized Hospital as part of L'Oréal’s annual Volunteer Day in June and participating in the Foundation’s annual Walk n’ Roll fundraiser.
