NEW YORK, Nov. 21, 2014 – On Thursday, November 13, more than 20 military teens and their mothers from USO’s Operation: That’s My Dress! attended L’Oréal USA’s Have A BEAUTIFUL Day, a company initiative designed to promote veterans in the workforce. As part of the program, the company hosted an all-day event for military families to discuss career pathways and opportunities as well as partake inhair and make-up consultations and services offered by 25 volunteer professional hair and makeup stylists at L’Oréal USA’s Redken Exchange on Fifth Avenue.
More than 60 American flag-waving employeesgreeted military families as they were escorted to the Redken Exchangeon Fifth Avenue. After a brief welcome by L’Oréal executives, some of whom were veterans, the families met with hair and makeup stylists for personal beauty consultations featuring cut and color diagnosis and styling, and makeup applications. Following lunch, a roundtable dialogue on “The Beauty of Careers” featuring L'Oréal executives provided an inside look at employment opportunities in the beauty industry.

“Have A BEAUTIFUL Day” is one of the strategic initiatives of the company’s Office of Diversity & Inclusion designed to honor, celebrate and empower military families through beauty education and services and to raise awareness of the needs of U.S. Military personnel. The program also supports the USO’s Every Moment Counts campaign to rally Americans to honor and create moments that matter for our troops and their families. Every Moment Counts refers to the countless, everyday moments – from the front porch to the front lines – that our troops and their families sacrifice due to their commitment and service to our country.
