Third "Citizen Day" for L’Oréal employees
Commitments

Among the different commitments of L'Oréal, "Citizen Day" occupies a special place since it is the annual worldwide day when the group's personnel can take part in an initiative to serve the general interest on a voluntary basis.

Because the group firmly believes that "we all have a role to play", it encourages personnel throughout the world to use that day to become key players in its citizen-centred approach via a voluntary action to help associations or institutions which have expressed a particular need.

This day is also the chance to associate teams with the group's major SER undertakings since they are asked to lead an action relating to 4 themes dear to the L'Oréal group: the environment, generous beauty, science education and diversity.

The actions taken, which must be both local and of real value, may be held at partners supported by the group (those of the Foundation, those of the Diversity teams), as part of a local strategy for L'Oréal sites, the group being keen to play a role within the urban and social fabric where it conducts its activities (undertaken in partnership with municipalities and associations close to its premises), or within L'Oréal premises via collections or coaching actions, for instance.

This is a red-letter day for internal mobilisation of teams, since it enables an important moment of sharing around the values of civic responsibility and generosity of spirit. In 2011, over 15,000 employees in 58 countries around the world, including 2,200 in France, took part in this event. This year, over 4,000 people in France have joined in and over 19,000 in the world.
