Our Code of Business Ethics is the reference document for ethics within L’Oréal and helps employees, managers and directors live up to the L’Oréal Spirit in their day-to day professional activity.
L’Oréal’s Code of Business Ethics is the reference document, the “Constitution” that guides action, inspires choices and brings the Group’s ethical principles into the daily professional life of every employee. It applies to all employees of the L’Oréal Group and its subsidiaries worldwide. It also applies to all officers and Directors of the L’Oréal Group and its subsidiaries. Each employee receives a personal copy when joining the Group.
First issued in 2000, the Code of Business Ethics was updated in 2007 with the help of employees via international advisory groups held in Asia, Europe, North America and Latin America. The Code was then validated by each Country Manager, Human Resources Manager and local legal counsel to make sure it was applicable locally. To underline the importance of this document, L'Oréal’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer signed the foreword, and the introduction is signed by the entire Executive Committee. Employees are encouraged to give their feedback on the Code in the course of regular reviews.
The Code of Business Ethics sets out the rules of good conduct that are expected from L’Oréal employees. It is available in 43 versions and 35 languages. It is also published in braille in an English and a French version, thanks to the Valentin Hauy association, serving people with vision impairment and blindness.
